ShowMe STL ("ShowMe STL", "we", "our", or "us") provides a mobile app that helps users discover places in Saint Louis, save favorites, and build playlists. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, name, and profile details you provide.
- Saved content: favorite places, playlists, prompts, and optional notes or preferences.
- Social data: follow relationships between accounts and collaborative playlist membership. Your profile may be visible to other users unless you set it to private.
- Photos you choose to upload: optional profile images or playlist cover images.
- Location data: approximate or precise location only when you grant permission so nearby places can be shown.
- Purchase information: subscription status and transaction-related records provided through Apple.
- Diagnostics and product events: limited technical and usage events used to operate, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account.
- To personalize the app, including favorites, playlists, and profile details.
- To help you discover relevant places and sort results by distance.
- To save and sync content across sessions and devices.
- To power social features including following other users, collaborative playlists, and discovering places your connections like.
- To process subscriptions and restore eligible purchases.
- To monitor reliability, investigate issues, and improve the product.
Location permissions
If you allow location access, ShowMe STL uses that information to estimate distance to places and improve local discovery results. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
Photos and media
Photo library access is optional. If you grant access, ShowMe STL uses selected images only for the profile or playlist content you choose to create.
Profile visibility
By default your profile (name, neighborhood, and public playlists) is visible to other ShowMe STL users. You can switch your profile to private at any time from the Profile screen, which hides it from search results and other users' feeds.
Sharing
The app may create shareable links for places and playlists. Only the content you choose to share is included in those links.
Third-party services
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, and file storage.
- Apple services for subscription billing and other App Store related transactions.
- Operations and logging providers to receive diagnostic and app event data.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the app, support subscriptions, store data, or maintain system reliability.
Retention
We keep account and saved-content data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. Some records may be kept longer when required for legal, security, billing, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your choices
- You can update profile information inside the app.
- You can manage location and photo permissions in your device settings.
- You can make your profile private from the Profile screen in the app.
- You can request account or data deletion by contacting us or using the Delete Account option in the app.
Children's privacy
ShowMe STL is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
